Depending on your age and the amount of life insurance you are applying for an insurance company may require the following:
- Height and weight measurement
- Blood pressure reading
- Blood sample
- Urine sample
- ECG reading
- Examination by a physician
An examiner will be sent to your home or office to collect a blood sample, urine sample, and obtain a height, weight and blood pressure measurement. The examiner will also ask you questions about your medical history. It usually takes about 30 minutes and is done at no cost to you. The ECG and physician exam are reserved for people over age 65 or people applying for amounts of insurance over five million dollars.
